God’s Peculiar Little Habit

OCTOBER 26TH, 2020      |     God has an unusual little thing He does. When first noticed, you may be caught off guard a little. God seems to enjoy showing up a little too late and then doing a miracle.

There are many biblical examples of this peculiar behavior on God’s part. One is when Jesus took an extra few days to show up at the home of his friend, Lazarus, who was deathly sick. By the time He arrived, His friend had been dead and buried a few days and was probably pretty stinky. Yet when the Lord arrives, He commands Lazarus to come forth from the grave pronto and Lazarus does.

Both the Old and New Testaments have stories where God is a few days late, but saves the day anyhow. He is always right on time. What He is moved by and seems to even prize is your confidence and faith in His love for you and your trusting His willingness to help, even in what looks like an impossible situation.

So the next time you get in a tight situation and pray for God’s help, there are two things you can be sure of—He’s not going to show up on your schedule, but if you really put your confidence in Him, He’s going to show up for sure!

So then he told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.”

Thank God that though His timing is not your timing, it’s always perfect.

Praise God for all the times He’s shown up, even when you’ve lost hope.
