“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” –Psalm 13:5 NIV
“But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation.” –Psalm 13:5 NIV
Have you ever asked God, “Why?” Why does this have to be happening to you? Why does YOUR life have to be so hard while everyone else seems to be gliding along? Why couldn’t you find that perfect job? Why aren’t you perfectly healthy like your friends?
Maybe you have asked these questions before or maybe you are still in that “Why, God” stage. When David wrote Psalm 13, he was asking the same questions. “How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul, with sorrow in my heart every day? How long will my enemy have the upper hand? Turn and answer me, O LORD my God! Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die…But I trust your unfailing love…” (Psalm 13: 2-3, 5).
Verse 5 has the answer. Even when you don’t understand why, you can still choose to trust God’s unfailing love. God doesn’t want His people hurting. He loves you and only wants good things for you. God never promised life would be easy. He promised He would cause everything to be used for your good and His glory.
You may never know the answers to your “why” questions but you can be sure that God has abundant blessings for you.
