Gentleness – Part 2

Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.

–Ephesians 4:2 NLT

Yesterday you asked God to open your eyes. Today, take it a step further and consider how you might go about folding gentleness into the fabric of your being.

Adjectives for “gentle” include considerate and thoughtful; “being careful” was also a phrase that came to mind when thinking about gentleness. Adjectives for “careful” include alert, attentive, vigilant, and observant.

James 3:17 (NLT) says wisdom is gentle at all times. So perhaps it’s about awareness—applying your brain, your heart, AND your eyes, looking for opportunities to always be humble and gentle, patient with each other, “making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love”

Oh Father, please help me to love with Your love, to see with Your compassion, and to reach out and touch with Your divine gentleness.

Prayer Focus

  • Thank God that He loves you completely and totally, without reservation, in spite of your faults.
  • Ask Him to open your eyes for opportunities to be gentle, considerate, and patient with others.
