Today’s culture looks for a process of completion, looking for the 5 easy steps of this and the 7 steps for that. Even in faith. Google says “7 steps to be a successful Christian.” It is really much less complicated.
Genesis 12:1, 4 show what is necessary:
What He says, you do.
Period.
He says leave. You do.
He says be kind. You do.
He says love. You do.
He says forgive. You do.
Simple, right?
There are times and situations for deep discourse about theology and study of scripture, but you must never forget the simplicity of the Cross. Don’t complicate the command. The one step to following Christ is simple. You do. As He asked, as He commanded.
Jesus did, so can you, too.
