During Halloween, children roam about collecting candy. They masquerade themselves in all types of costumes from cute to scary. While in disguise, it is hard to determine who is really behind the mask. Regardless of the childish deception, you know without doubt that such a ploy is counterfeit. A genuine individual hides within.
As followers of Christ, you need to be on guard to the schemes, deceit and lures stemming from your real enemy. You must be very careful not to allow Satan to mislead, guide or trap you into falsehood, sin or darkness.
Like children at Halloween putting on costumes to play a trick while seeking a treat, it is imperative that you follow what the Bible says about dressing in the full armor of God.
“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (Ephesians 6:14-17 NIV).
Which do you prefer – to be tricked by the enemy or to receive a blessing from God?
Daily, shun evil and seek God.

- Pray that the Holy Ghost will give you discernment regarding the enemy and his mischief works trying to sneak into your life.
