Don’t Settle for Crumbs

SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2020      |        Do we live life in the shadow of our past failures and regrets—or in the light of future potential? Do we accept failure as our identity—or do we determine that our ability to fail does not make us a failure? Do we see ourselves through the eyes of condemnation, guilt, and shame—or through the eyes of forgiveness? Do we live life refusing to forgive and wanting to get even—or one of love and grace?

We are all flawed and imperfect in many ways, but His ways are perfect. His love endures forever, and we need to shout that from the rooftops. The world often sees the Church as a bunch of religious nuts trying to cram God down their throats, but nothing should be further from the truth. Instead, the Church should be showing the world God’s love and forgiveness.

We are people who are forgiven and set free from the bondage of condemnation and guilt. We make the choice every day to either serve the world and its condemnation, or Christ and His redemption. Nothing can ever separate us from His love. So why would we live on the crumbs the world gives?

Don’t Settle for Crumbs

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

–Romans 12:2 NIV

Lord, I want to relearn how to live life. Your ways are not my ways—Yours are perfect.

Thank You for giving us Your Word to be our measuring stick and compass for life. Help me to use it!
