Don’t Lose Hope

JUNE 9TH, 2021      |     Many are familiar with Romans 5:5 that says, “Now hope does not disappoint.” But what about the times when your hopes were up only to experience pain when what you hoped for did not happen? Proverbs 13:12 says that hope deferred makes the heart sick, and you don’t want to be sick. So, what should you do when faced with disappointment?

The answer is hope, and hope again—but you probably know that saying or reading about hope is a whole lot easier than living it. Hope makes a person very vulnerable. Each time you choose to hope you leave your heart wide open to whatever may come—be it the joy of desire fulfilled or the hollow ache of being let down.

But you must continue to hope. It’s life-giving. In Romans 4:18 it says Abraham hoped against hope, and it was credited to him as righteousness. That alone is an amazing outcome of hoping and trusting! The Scripture is true when it says that hope does not disappoint. Circumstances may, but HOPE will not.

What has God promised you? What desire do you have in your heart that you have yet to see fulfilled? Choose to hope against hope, against your current circumstances, knowing that He who has promised is faithful.

Don’t Lose Hope

Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

Ask God to reveal any areas in your life where you’ve lost hope.

Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind and awaken hope in you.
