Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

The Church: Living a Life that Preaches the Gospel
Community is a concept found throughout the Bible. Matthew 18:20 (NIV) says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Today’s verse certainly includes the directive of preaching the gospel to those who don’t know Jesus, but how about preaching to those who do?
You may have heard the saying, “Preach the Gospel at all times, and if necessary use words.” Preaching often happens not with a kind word, but with an act of kindness, a gift card given to somebody who is struggling financially, volunteering in your community, or joining a group at your church. You don’t have to be an eloquent speaker to preach the gospel. Ask God to reveal to you how He wants you to preach the gospel with your life. He might put people in your path who need your help or reveal an opportunity that fits your skillset perfectly. Find your passion and serve God’s people. You’ll love what happens in your life as a result.
When Jesus left this earth, he instructed us to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel…” (Mark 16:15 NIV). Let’s look for opportunities to preach to others through the way we live our lives.
Ask God to help you find an opportunity, whether it be in church or in the community, to preach the gospel through serving others.
