They could hardly contain themselves: They were in the right place! They had arrived at the right time!
-Matthew 2:10 MSG
It doesn’t take much time around children before you realize they are curious, imaginative and ready to discover new things. Children are also available to be interrupted. Rarely are they too busy to make time for a new adventure.
Wise people maintain a proper balance of determination and flexibility, which means they are available to be redirected by God-ordained opportunities, which might not have been on their radar.
Children regularly experience moments of awe and true amazement. This trait is often lost in adulthood, and yet it adds great value to life.
Amazement is the gift to those whose curiosity keeps them available for the joy of new discoveries. Wise people make room for things that allow them to learn and grow throughout the journey of life. Adults learn to assess risks, but after calculation and preparation must come action.
These wise men dropped everything on their to-do list to travel to Israel and admire the newborn King. They were available, amazed, action-oriented and awe-inspired. Those who are wise maintain the heart of a child by following the Lord’s leading, and can rest assured they will arrive in the right place at the right time!
Pray for a receptive heart that recognizes and remains open to being redirected by God-ordained opportunities.
Ask the Lord to help you become a person who is available, amazed, action-oriented and awe-inspired.
