Cheerful Courage

… Each person is given something to do that shows who God is: Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people!

–1 Corinthians 12:7 MSG

Purpose results in cheerful courage. Not only has God given you spiritual gifts, but He’s also given you unique talents and strengths that are all part of His plan for your life. When you operate in your God-given gifts, you’ll have the courage to pursue some God-sized goals. Cheerful courage is God’s gift to those who are willing to pursue their dreams and live with purpose.

Becoming purpose-filled brings new freedom. As you grow to understand what you’re called and equipped to do, you will have clarity about releasing the things that don’t belong in your life, which is very freeing. Living as a person of purpose confirms the destiny you sense in your heart, giving you the freedom to embrace God’s greater plan and purpose for your life.

When you are committed to becoming purpose-filled, you will live an honorable life. As your motives are sifted through the filter of glorifying God and loving others, your goals and plans will be ethical and noble. Whether it’s serving in the church with your spiritual gifts or using your natural gifts and strengths in the marketplace, people will see God living through you.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for insight about what God’s called and equipped you to do and the wisdom to release the things that don’t belong in your life.
  • Ask God for the courage to live with purpose and use your God-given gifts to pursue God-sized goals.
