All Our Needs

March 27, 2021      |       When you were a kid, did you ever get homesick? Whether it was the first time we went to camp or spent the night at a friend’s house, we’ve all gone through it. Sooner or later we all need to go through the separation process to become healthy adults. A good parent knows that their child will be better for it even though it’s difficult.

In Philippians 4:19, we read God’s promise to always meet our needs. We get excited about that because we love getting the things we want. God does promise to meet all our needs; He tells us not to worry about what we’ll eat, drink, or wear. However, like the parent who knows a homesick child needs to suffer separation to be healthy, so too God knows there are some uncomfortable things we need to go through.

When He waits to answer a prayer, He’s meeting our need of patience. When He allows a financial need to be met at the last minute, He’s meeting our need of trust. When He withholds anything we’ve asked for, He’s meeting our need of accepting His perfect will over ours. So, you see, He really does meet ALL our needs.

All Our Needs

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Father, please help me to trust You and Your timing!

When you’re in the midst of an unmet need, remember that the Father knows your real need. Thank Him for always meeting it in His way and His time.
