From long ago no ear has heard and no eye has seen any God besides You, Who works for those who wait for Him. -Isaiah 64:4 NLV

It’s not easy to wait. Our human nature doesn’t like it. However, as a child of God, if you want His best, then you have to learn to cooperate with God, and wait on His timing. As you walk with the Lord, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide you, God will fulfill His good plans for your life, but that usually requires waiting.

Waiting includes surrender and trust. It means that you have to give up your own agenda and time tables to accept your Heavenly Father’s. Sometimes that is not easy, but here’s the good news: when you do, you can enter into rest knowing that God promises to do His part and work on your behalf just as this verse above says.

The word “works” in this verse literally means to intervene, put things in their proper place, set things in order, and make things right. When you willingly surrender your timetable in order to wait for God’s, He promises to do what you cannot…work in the unseen, orchestrating His plans and purposes for you, and bringing them about in His perfect timing.

Why not make that exchange today? Give the Lord your agenda and timing and be willing to wait for His best. He will fulfill His plans and purposes in your life and complete them. He will not fail you.
