This is what the LORD says: I, the LORD, made everything. I stretched out the heavens by myself. I spread out the earth all alone. -Isaiah 44:24 GW
God created the oceans with limits. He created the sky, plants, and animals with limits, too. Do you see the ocean trying to be the sky? Or the tiger trying to grow apples from its limbs? No, they are content to be the best that God created them to be.
Your weaknesses define your limits and your strengths define your direction. Together they help make up the unique you. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (Psalm 139:13-16)
But don’t forget that the One who gave you your strengths can take them away to reveal your pride. Don’t forget that the One who sets your limits can cause you to work from your weakness in order to show His might. Strength and weakness; they both bind us and find us. We need to live according to them and be saved from them.
