20/20 Godly Vision

JUNE 30TH, 2020      |        Let’s talk about the story of how Jesus treated the woman caught in the act of adultery in John 8:1-11. This woman is about to be stoned by a bunch of religious leaders, and the other half of the affair isn’t even there. When Jesus tells the crowd that the one without sin should throw the first stone, they all begin to walk away. The oldest to the youngest couldn’t throw a stone. When all the accusers were gone, Jesus told the woman that He would not condemn her but that she should “leave her life of sin” (John 1:11 NIV).

When we read this story, think about the love in Jesus’ eyes. We should never let someone else’s opinion or pain, change who we know God has made us to be. When people say we fall short, God says we are self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. When the world says we’re weak, the Father says that when we are weak, He is strong. When they accuse, abuse, or condemn us, God says there is no condemnation for those in Christ. Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. He is a liar—the father of lies, and there is no truth in him. Why listen to him? You are loved without measure—the apple of God’s eye. Remember that today.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

Don’t let others steal your joy by their perception of who you are. Seek out who God says you are, and live by His Word.

The Lord doesn’t condemn you, so why bother with what people have to say.
